Streamlining Nature-Based Solutions for resilient and sustainable water management in the Mediterranean region
SIRENA adopts a holistic approach that integrates technical, environmental, economic, social, and governance dimensions to implement scalable and replicable Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). It aims to improve water quality and availability, strengthen resilience to droughts, floods, water scarcity, and biodiversity loss, while promoting community-driven innovation through digital tools and citizen engagement. The project also enhances cross-regional cooperation, governance, and the cost-effectiveness of NBS to support their wider adoption and upscaling.
