On the 20th to 21st October 2026, the PRIMA Project Day took place at Casa Convalescència in Barcelona, Spain, bringing together around 90 participants representing 60 projects funded under the PRIMA 2024 and 2025 calls. The two-day event gathered project teams, representatives of the PRIMA Secretariat and National Funding Agencies to exchange experiences, share knowledge and explore opportunities for collaboration across the Mediterranean.

During the event, the SIRENA project was presented to the PRIMA community, introducing its approach to strengthening water resilience and climate adaptation through Nature-Based Solutions (NbS). Funded under the PRIMA Programme, SIRENA focuses on promoting and scaling up NbS to address water-related challenges in Mediterranean regions.

The programme included short presentations from 30 recently funded projects, alongside a Café Scientifique poster session featuring 27 projects and their Key Exploitable Results (KERs). Representatives from two completed PRIMA projects, OURMed and NEWFEED, also shared their experiences and results, providing insights into the implementation and application of research outcomes.

Throughout the event, participants discussed opportunities for cooperation, including joint events and webinars, shared demonstration sites, coordinated communication activities and the exchange of methodologies and data.

The PRIMA Project Day provided a space for participating projects to establish connections and identify common areas of work in Mediterranean water management, agriculture and food systems.
